Law Award Winners 2016 – Law Firm Innovation

Awards

Our firm were the happy recipient at the Irish law awards on Friday the 6th of May 2016, in the category of Law Firm Innovation.  We won our award for the development of one of the most advanced conveyancing systems in Ireland.  We streamlined the conveyancing process and introduced automation, checklists and supporting documents to operate a seamless system for assisting clients in the sale and purchase of property.

Our conveyancing system was a year in development.  After development, we deployed the system in our organisation in stages, with a series of training sessions with staff and then improving the system based on staff feedback and usage. Further work was conducted in developing the report function.

There were five other firms across Ireland in our category and we fought off competition from larger firms with over 150 solicitors.  The event was held at the Doubletree Hilton on Burlington Road (formerly the Burlington Hotel) and I was

delighted that our financial controller and my father Tommy Kelly (who will be 80 next March!) was able to join with me on the night for the celebration.  It was a very enjoyable night.  I was also very happy that my wife Eleanor (who is a solicitor and head of legal at financial services firm FEXCO) was also in attendance at the invitation of the main sponsor AIB Private Banking.

Thank you to documatics for their sponsorship of the award.  Documatics are a leading provider of document management software in Ireland and abroad and our conveyancing system was developed as an additional layer on the Documatics system.
