Colm Kelly is principal of the firm and head of our corporate and commercial contracts division. He has a broad based commercial practice assisting commercial enterprises in the region on share structures, purchases, investments and commercial contracts advice.

He has particular expertise in the area of intellectual property and information technology having a leading practice in the area on such topics. His advice on these matters focuses on drafting and negotiation of software licences, website terms, advice on data protection, advice on copyright and related matters.
Colm qualified in a leading Dublin commercial practice and gained further commercial experience working in London and in-house in County Kerry prior to becoming the principal of the firm.

He is a joint author of several publications on intellectual property including Sweet & Maxwell’s annotations of the Copyright and Related Rights 2000 and the Industrial Designs Act 2001. He holds a Masters degree in the area of copyright.

He is a past lecturer on the Law Society’s continual professional development course on Intellectual Property and a past lecturer to the Cork Law School of trainee solicitors in the areas of intellectual property and information technology.
