About Us

The firm of Healy Crowley Ahern is the result of the merger in April 2011 of the firm of JB Healy Crowley and Michael C Ahern. We have offices in both Killorglin and Caherciveen Co Kerry. We have two solicitors and four support staff. The firm has historic roots in both Killorglin and Caherciveen, Co Kerry.

The firm enthusiastically embraces technology, having implemented up to date document management and digital dictation systems. We are members of the Documatics workflow steering groups whose aim is to drive the seamless delivery of legal services. We also strive to achieve high client care benchmarks and have obtained the Q3000 Standard for client care and compliance issued by the Institute of Legal Research and Standards.

History

The firm in Killorglin was founded by William A Crowley in the 1940s. He remained as the sole practitioner of law in Killorglin for a considerable number of years developing a wide ranging client base. Mr Crowley died in 2002 after practising law in the area for in excess of fifty years. He was succeeded in the firm by his daughter Angela Condon, now a judge of the District Court. When Ms Condon became a judge, Mr Tim O’Shea remained as principal of the firm. Mr Colm Kelly joined the firm in 2007 and now is principal of the merged firm.

Michael C Ahern set up practice in Killorglin in 1976. He was a determined man of complex energy who worked tirelessly on behalf of his clients. Michael was committed to the social, cultural and traditional life of his native area. He had a willingness to work at all levels to advance same. He passed away in September 2011.

Mr Tim O’Shea solicitor (who died in May 2010) was a gregarious and dedicated solicitor, with one of the keenest intellects in the County. He qualified in Tralee and joined William A Crowley solicitors in the early 1980s. He excelled in tax planning and also in devising litigation strategies. He was a passionate supporter of both Munster and Irish rugby and a past president of Killorglin rugby club.

John B Healy solicitor built a successful and thriving practice in Caherciveen from the 1930s. His practice was purchased by Angela Condon and Tim O’Shea in the mid 1980s to form the firm JB Healy Crowley. Mr John B Healy was a TD and member of the 11th and 12th Dáil for Kerry South from the period of 1943 to 1948. He passed away in 1995.

Colm Kelly

Colm Kelly’s principal focus is on the areas of estate management and personal injuries. He also manages the property division. His mission is delivery of excellent outcomes for clients and has a passion for great service.
